Dr. JEFFREY W. GILMAN joined NIST in 1993 as a research polymer chemist. After developing solid state NMR methods to characterize char formed from polymer burning, he shifted to research focused on the study of a new flame retardant approach utilizing polymer clay nanocomposites. One of the main goals of his research currently is aimed at developing new high throughput experimental methods for characterizing polymer flammability. | |||
